General Information - The WSIPC RFP 99-38 Computer Contract for the "Specialty" or "White Box" type computer section has been awarded to Alden Associates exclusively on Aug 13, 1999.
Who is covered - This contract covers most school districts who already have an interlocal agreement with WSIPC or are WSIPC members. Other schools and public agencies may buy from it through an interlocal agreement with WSIPC. Employees of schools and agencies that are covered by WSIPC can buy under this contract, but do not get an on-site service option.
Term of contract - From August 31, 1999, with 4 - 1-year renewals. Renewed through August 2002 so far.
Markup - Gross profits allowed Alden for merchandise is now fixed by the contract.
Guarantee - This contract is backed by a $100,000 Letter-Of-Credit until the warranty runs out on products covered.
Items Covered - Alden brand computer workstations, servers, and parts.
* AOpen, ASUS, Acer, Super Micro, Intel, Chaintech or other motherboards
* Videoboards. * DVD, CD-RW and CD-ROM drives.
* AOpen, Super Micro and other computer cases with ball-bearing power supply
fans.
* Western Digital, IBM, or Seagate hard drives. * Creative Labs soundboards.
* NEC, Futura, ViewSonic, AOpen, Epson, and other monitors, LCD screens, and
projectors.

All parts used for computers are FCC A- and B-certified. Power supplies are UL-approved and include long-lasting Ball Bearing fans. Parts are from ISO-certified manufacturers. All motherboards used are certified by Microsoft as Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000/XP compatible, or by Novell as Netware 3x/4x/5x/6x compatible. Computers have a 5-year guarantee from Alden to be compatible with all operating systems. All computers come with complete documentation and driver disks.
Freight - The freight (included in the base price for all computers) is $12 per machine. Freight for parts orders is now $10 per order regardless of order size.
Software - There is no charge for Alden to install software purchased through WSIPC on the Microsoft Select Program or School Agreement Program.
Warranty - All hardware support must be performed by an A+ certified employee.
