contract awarded to Alden Associates Inc.

This bid covers: Workstations, Servers, Notebooks, Printers, UPSs, Network Hubs and Switches and all accessories for items listed. There is no contract fee with this contract.
This bid has an interlocal agreement that allows any school or public agency to buy from it without going to bid.
Term of contract: 1 year with four 1-year renewals possible until July 2008.
This bid is backed by a $50,000 performance bond until the warranty runs out on products covered.

Hardware used:

* AOpen, Supermicro, or Asus motherboards and cases with ball bearing power supply fans.

* Western Digital or Seagate hard drives. * Creative Labs soundboards. * Teac floppies.

* AOpen, NEC, ViewSonic, or Futura - monitors, LCD Panels, & Projectors

* IBM, Maxtor SCSI hard drives. * Acer Notebooks

All parts used for computers must be FCC A- and B- certified.

Power supplies are UL approved and include long-lasting Ball Bearing fans.

Parts are from ISO-certified manufacturers except dual processor motherboards and videoboards.

AOpen motherboards used are certified by Microsoft as Windows 95/98 and NT compatible.

Computers have a 5-year guaranty from Alden to be compatible with all operating systems.

All computers come with complete documentation.

Markup (profits) allowed to Alden for merchandise is now fixed by the contract.

All hardware support must be performed by an A+ and Network+ certified employee. Alden must pay penalties to the buyer for late warranty service that include: * $25 per day for late workstations and notebook repair or $100 per day for late Server repair.

Alden service rates, for nonwarranty support, are now fixed by this contract at $80 per hour with no travel time charged.

Freight for parts orders is now $10 per order regardless of order size. The freight (that is included in the price for computers) increased to $12 per machine from $10 in the past.
